Shipping, Soap Care & FAQs
Everything you need to know before ordering from Sage & Simple. If your question is not answered here, please contact us before placing your order.
Where do you deliver?
We are based in Johannesburg and deliver orders across South Africa. The available delivery option and cost are shown during checkout before you pay.
How will I know my order was received?
After a successful checkout, you should receive an order confirmation using the contact details supplied with your order. Keep your order number handy if you need help.
What should I do if my parcel or product arrives damaged?
Please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photographs of the parcel and affected item. We will review the problem and explain the next practical step.
Can I return soap?
Soap is a personal-care product, so please contact us before sending anything back. Returns depend on the condition of the product and the reason for the request. Nothing on this page limits any rights you may have under applicable South African consumer law.
Why does my bar look slightly different from the photograph?
Our soap is made and cut in small batches. Natural colour, hand-poured patterns and hand-cut dimensions can vary slightly from bar to bar without changing the product’s intended use.
How should I store handmade soap?
Let the bar dry between uses on a well-draining soap dish. Keep it away from standing water and direct shower spray. A dry bar lasts longer.
Which bar should I choose for fragrance-sensitive skin?
Begin by reading the complete ingredient list. If fragrance is a concern, consider the Bare Tallow Bar and introduce it gradually. “Natural” ingredients can still cause sensitivity, so patch test first.
Can Sage & Simple soap treat a skin condition?
No. Our soaps are cosmetic rinse-off cleansers, not medical treatments. Stop use if irritation occurs and speak to a qualified healthcare professional about persistent or serious skin concerns.
What is tallow soap?
Tallow soap is traditional soap made by saponifying purified tallow in a carefully balanced recipe. Read our full guide: What is tallow soap?
